The membership of the governing board (see details below) is now focused on skills and the main consideration in the appointment and election of new governors is acquiring the skills and experience which our governing board needs to be effective.

Our governing board currently consists of:

6 (*4) parent governors;

1 local authority governor;

1 staff governor;

1 Headteacher governor and

9 (currently 8) co-opted governors.

The total number of governors is therefore 16, although Governors are currently reviewing the constitution of the governing board.             *Some vacancies have not been filled due to the proposed change.

The term of office for all governors is 4 years.

Parent governors are elected (by pupils’ parents); the staff governor is elected (by staff); the local authority governor is appointed by a local authority and co-opted governors are selected and approached to fill skill ‘gaps’ identified by the governing body.

Our committee structure will alter during the year to reflect the personnel changes.

Tabled below we have more detailed information about our governors and recent departees.

I have recently retired after 44 years of service in telecommunications. I was an area manager in cellular communications, managing a team of people who maintained mobile services in the Midlands. I was also the IT Lead Manager for the UK and introduced a new solution for Field Engineers, which saved  the company £250K a year. My managerial roles have been demanding and a vital part of that has always been to ensure budget compliance whilst delivering for the customer.
