The membership of the governing board (see details below) is now focused on skills and the main consideration in the appointment and election of new governors is acquiring the skills and experience which our governing board needs to be effective.

As from 1st February 2018, our governing body currently consists of:

2 parent governors;

1 local authority governor;

1 staff governor;

1 Headteacher governor and

7 co-opted governors.

The total number of governors is therefore 12.

The term of office for all governors is 4 years.

Parent governors are elected (by pupils’ parents); the staff governor is elected (by staff); the local authority governor is appointed by a local authority and co-opted governors are selected and approached to fill skill ‘gaps’ identified by the governing body.

We have changed our committee structure to improve our effectiveness. There are 10 full governing body meetings per year, which means we only have a First Committee, Second Committee (required from non-staff governors with appointments subject to availability) and a Head Performance Management Committee.

Tabled below we have more detailed information about our governors and recent departees.

Clerk to the Governors: Tess Vigus  (From Sept 2017)
